The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was approved by the EU Parliament on 14 April 2016, Regulation No 2016/679, and entered into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU. The Regulation is applicable directly to all EU Member States two years after its entry into force, on 25 May 2018.
